ABOUT WINE GRAPES HOW MANY TYPES OF WINES GRAPES.


               White Grape Varieties 
                 The Greeks were the first to begin a “scientific” research on winemaking and grape growing, which led to the hybridization of the vines; today there are over 800 grape varieties cultivated majorly for winemaking. a white wine produced from white grapes has a characteristic freshness, a crisp flavor, and mesmerizing aromas.

1.    Chardonnay   French

2.    Sauvignon Blanc  Born somewhere between the Loire and Bordeaux regions of France.

3.    Riesling   Germany and preferring cold climates

4.    Chenin Blanc    Germany and France, one of the most famous grapes in the world.  

5.    Gewürztraminer  French,It is mainly cultivated in Europe, Chile, Argentina, Australia, California, South Africa and New Zealand

6.    Torrontés      Argentina but also famous in Spain

7.    Sémillon      French, As a white wine, serve it with white meats, vegetarian dishes, or fish.

8.    Pinot Blanc    France, especially Europe, in Italy,Germany, and Slovakia.

9.    Glera        Italy ,The grape is characterized by a dark yellow skin and complex aromas

10. Sercial   Portugal  (sp. Madira wine )

11. Pedro Giménez     Argentina, the grapes are used to obtain fresh light-bodied white wines with medium acidity.  pair well with crackers and fish, white sauce pasta and grilled vegetables. 






              Red Wine Grapes GRA


1.  Cabernet Sauvignon.  it is grown in California, Washington, Italy, Australia, Chile, and Argentina, etc.

2.  Merlot . It is also an important red wine grape in Chile, Washington, California, Long Island District, New York, and Northeastern Italy.

3.  Pinot Noir. New Zealand, California, Chile and parts of Australia.

4.  Zinfandel. Its among the oldest grapes grown in California and is highly regarded there. It has a blackberry or raspberry flavor. For many years, 

5.    Syrah or Shiraz .Syrah is a heavy skin, dark grape that grows in hotter climates which is why California and Australia are two major producers of this delicious wine.

6.  Malbec. Malbec originates from France and although once the major component of wine varietals in Bordeaux, it is typically used in there to flesh out Right Bank blends.

7.  Tempranill.  It is the wine of Spain and is also grown in warmer climates like California, Australia, Turkey, New Zealand, South America and Texas. 

8.  Sangiovese. It is mainly produced in warmer climate areas like Italy’s Tuscany region and California. The primary preparation style is medium-bodied with plum flavors, and fresh berry included.

10.              Carménère. Carménère is Chile's most popular red wine grape with a fascinating story. It was originally cultivated in France. It is also a part of the Cabernet family. Its name, which translates as Crimson refers to the colors that abound in the harvest season.
